Introduction: Patients with a Cushing syndrome – a glucocorticoid driven disease–have a high risk for cardiovascular events, mainly due to atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is a lipid-driven inflammatory disease, for which novel anti-inflammatory strategies like glucocorticoids are under evaluation.
